4 men smashing pumpkins into Alpharetta mailboxes



ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Four young men were arrested for damaging mailboxes Nov. 2 on High Hampton Chase in Alpharetta.

According to the arresting police officer, he was conducting a routine patrol in the Hampton Hall subdivision about 2:45 a.m. when he noticed a mailbox destroyed with a smashed pumpkin beside it in the wake of a passing car.

The officer followed the car and pulled it over in a cul-de-sac. Inside were four young men. The driver allegedly admitted to smashing mailboxes with pumpkins. A pile of pumpkins was found in the car.

Joshua Ryan Carlson, 23, of Cumming, James Benjamin Ferland, 23, of Atlanta, Benjamin Connor Robertson, 24, of Eastbourne Way, Johns Creek, and Brendan Patrick McGowan, 23, of Park Brooke Trace, Alpharetta, were all arrested for criminal conspiracy and two counts of damaging mailboxes.
