FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A thief stole pricey gold coins from a woman’s nightstand, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.
At 1 p.m. March 12, a woman told deputies she arrived at her mother’s home in the 3300 block of Ashton Drive and the back door was open.
The woman said she spent 15 minutes in the home and locked the back door and left. The woman reported what happened to her mother who asked her daughter to return home and check it again.
The woman went back to her mother’s home and the back door was again open and an iPad and laptop computer were on the back patio.
Deputies searched the home and found drawers open and rummaged through. The victim spoke to deputies on the phone and asked them to check her nightstand and see if her gold coins were there.
Deputies searched the nightstand, but were unable to find the ounce gold Canadian Maple Leaf coins and were valued at $15,000.
