All the breed legislation in the world doesn't help if owners aren't doing three things:
1. Training their dogs how to deal with new things, including strange people, without biting them.
2. Controlling their dogs. Sturdy fences and sturdy leashes make good neighbors.
3. Spaying and neutering. There are simply too many dogs around, most of them produced by people who thought Suzie Floozy's puppies were going to be worth money. News flash: they're not. If you don't know how to produce healthy puppies with stable temperaments, spay Suzie Floozy. Please!
Pit bulls aren't the problem. People who think they know about dogs because they've seen one once are the problem.
