Ending red light cameras
November 28, 2012 | 12:03 PM

This is a good move. The 2.78% of accidents due to red light violations is normal across the USA, it is a minor part of the total.
Georgia mandated one second longer on the yellows and that drastically reduced the violation rates. If Roswell still has a lesser issue here, they should add another 1/2 second to the yellows as the FHWA recommends for places with many older drivers. This caution is NEVER harmful and will cut the violations even more.
Safety comes from engineering, NOT from punishments.
