ATLANTA – Sara Bareilles returned to Atlanta July 23 at Chastain Amphitheatre for The Little Black Dress Tour, which also featured Lucius and Emily King in support. Many fans took the title of the tour literally, showing up dressed in their best.

When Bareilles took the stage and launched into “Little Black Dress,” from her latest release, 2013's The Blessed Unrest, the crowd came alive dancing and singing along with her. Unrest dominated the set list for the night, but Bareilles also performed several songs from 2007's platinum Little Voice, including "Love on the Rocks," "Gravity," and the radio smash "Love Song."

Bareilles was such a positive energy on stage for the entire performance, laughing and joking with the audience in between songs, even though she spoke about dealing with some pretty tough issues. "I wrote this song when I was in a deep depression," she shared with the crowd as she introduced "Hercules," stating that the song was part of her catharsis and that writing Unrest is what got her through the hard time. Bareilles also mentioned her love of musical theater, and that she is currently writing the score to the musical version of “Waitress,” based off the 2007 movie of the same name. She introduced the first finished song from the musical, called "She Used to Be Mine," a gorgeous and moving piece that all but silenced the audience. Bareilles even joked about it afterward, saying, "You guys were way too quiet during that one."

A surprise cover of Sia's "Chandelier" kept things going and current single "I Choose You" got the crowd back on their feet and dancing again. Bareilles led the audience in a singalong during "King of Anything," from 2010's Kaleidoscope Heart and closed out the set with mega-hit "Brave."

Bareilles returned to the stage with her backup singers to perform a stunning a Capella version of "Bright Lights and Cityscapes," and the full band returned for "Satellite Call," during which a massive mirror ball descended behind Sara at her piano, creating the perfect atmosphere to end the magical performance.
