Two arrested in large marijuana bust in Cumming

CUMMING, Ga. In two separate busts on Friday, Jan. 31, Cumming Police netted several bags of marijuana with a street value of $36,000.

About noon, Cumming Police pulled over a 2003 silver BMW on Ga. 20 (Canton Road) near Sawnee Corners Boulevard.

After becoming suspicious of the driver, police searched the vehicle and found a box with twelve packages of marijuana and some cash.

Hugh Richard Darley, 70, was charged with trafficking marijuana.

Later in the day, Cumming Police investigators arrested a man also in connection with the marijuana bust.

Investigators arrested Knolton Albert Leaphart, 35, a manager at American Lube Fast in Cumming.

This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be available at a later date, said Lt. Bryan Zimbardi with the Cumming Police Department.
