Alpharetta Marching Raiders perform in Chicago parade

ALPHARETTA, Ga. On Thursday, Nov. 21, the Alpharetta Marching Raider Band traveled by road to Chicago to perform in the Magnificent Mile Festival of Lights Parade.

The Magnificent Mile Lights Festival has been a beloved holiday tradition in downtown Chicago for the past 21 years. Well over a million spectators converged on Michigan Avenue to experience this magical extravaganza. Mickey and Minnie Mouse led the entire parade down Michigan Avenue, which was transformed with millions of twinkling white lights. The parade ended with the traditional grand finale a spectacular fireworks display over the Chicago River.

The parade was broadcast live on ABC7 Chicago and will be rebroadcast on stations across the country throughout the holiday season. Tune into ABC Atlanta Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. to see the Alpharetta Marching Raiders alongside colorful floats, giant helium balloons, all your favorite characters from the Walt Disney World Resort and live performances from top musical artists.
