CUMMING, Ga. – Star Wars fans, both young and old, are invited to visit the Cumming Library on Saturday Oct. 26 from noon. to 1:30 p.m. for “Star Wars Saturday.”

The library, 585 Dahlonega Street, Cumming, will welcome members of the Georgia Garrison of the 501st Legion, an Atlanta-area volunteer organization of Star Wars aficionados. The group will don Star Wars costumes for a meet and greet with library patrons.

The Ga. 501st builds their own detailed costume replicas of classic Star Wars characters and promotes interest in Star Wars through community appearances and charity work.

The community is invited to visit anytime during the event to meet and greet with the Star Wars characters, to make Star Wars crafts and to test their Star Wars knowledge with trivia.

Patrons are also encouraged to dress up as their favorite Star Wars characters and to bring their cameras for photos with the library’s special guests.

This event serves as the library’s celebration of Star Wars Reads Day, an annual fall initiative aimed at encouraging reading among the nation’s children.

All ages are welcome to participate in Star Wars Saturday and no advance registration is required to attend.
