Scammer opens accounts, orders computers
Forsyth County resident falls victim to identity theft

CUMMING, Ga. ó Someone opened three accounts under a manís name, charged $1,600 and had a computer monitor delivered to his home, according to a Forsyth County Sheriffís incident report.

The man said on Aug. 3, UPS notified him about opening a UPS My Choice account on July 28, for which the man never signed up.

On July 31, the man said he got a packing sheet from UPS and Newegg.com, and UPS delivered a computer monitor to the manís home that he didnít order. He said he shipped it back via FedEx.

The man said the Newegg.com account had a $5,600 credit limit that he never authorized. Later, the victim found out that someone had opened a Best Buy Capital One account, an Amazon.com account and a Priceline.com account under his name.

The Amazon.com account had a $3,400 credit limit and was charged $1,600.

Forsyth County investigators said the other accounts had unknown account information at this time.
