ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The annual Taste of Alpharetta drew about 48,000 people May 9 to historic downtown to sample dozens of the city’s local restaurants and businesses.

Fifty-three restaurants packed in crowds along the streets, Alpharetta Assistant City Administrator James Drinkard said.

Ticket sales reached $114,322, an increase of $17,000 over last year’s event.

With several local bands performing live music and a culinary cook off among local chefs, the event highlighted the city’s exciting and vibrant downtown area.

“With our downtown efforts it was good to introduce as many people as possible to downtown,” said Alpharetta Mayor David Belle Isle. “There’s so much character downtown. What a great opportunity as we try to focus on making that a great point for a community and a hometown.”
