CUMMING, Ga. — A woman bought a car online, but never got the real deal.

The victim sent $2,748 to a Miami address for a car she saw online, but the car was never shipped, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

On April 23, a woman reported that she sent two separate payments of $1,374 to an address in Miami for a red 2000 Volkswagen Golf she found on Autotrader.com.

The woman contacted the seller because the sale price was lower than the average price.

The seller said in an email that he was leaving for Afghanistan and needed to sell the car quickly.

After sending two payments, the woman emailed the seller asking for the tracking number and status of the car.

The seller never contacted her again.
