Cash stolen from barn in Forsyth County

March 18, 2013

CUMMING, Ga. — For the past three years, a tenant has left the rent money under a horse blanket in a barn, but a thief caught on to this.

The thief stole $1,000 cash from the horse barn sometime between March 1 and March 3, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

The victim told deputies her tenant always puts the rent money under a horse blanket in the barn and has been doing this for three years.

The tenant told the victim the money had been dropped off on March 1. When she went to pick it up March 3, it was not there.

The victim said she keeps the door to the barn closed, but not locked.

Deputies could not find any footprints or tracks and nothing else was missing from the barn.
