Carjacking at Alpharetta hotel done at gunpoint

ALPHARETTA, Ga. – A man’s car was stolen at gunpoint Jan. 22 from a local hotel.
The victim told police he pulled into the parking lot of the Wingate Inn just before 8 p.m. and was unloading his luggage. A man described as skinny, 5-foot-10 and in his 20s walked up to him and asked what the time was.
The suspect was given the time and then said, “oh yeah, one other thing,” and pointed a pistol at the victim. He demanded the victim’s car.
The suspect got the keys and drove away. The car is described as an Avis rental tan Ford Fusion.
