The Big Top comes to Alpharetta
December 19, 2012
ALPHARETTA, Ga. – From Jan. 31 – Feb. 18, 2013, the Big Apple Circus will come to the Verizon Amphitheatre.
“They plan to have two daily shows in a climate-controlled big top tent,” said Kathi Cook, of the Alpharetta Community Development Department.
There will be animal shows and performance acts in a classical circus setting.
The one-ring tent will be located in Parking Lot A, which has 800 parking spots. It will take up half the lot.
Big Apple Circus is a nonprofit organization that aims to “present classical circus arts in a big top setting,” said General Manager Tom Larson.
The event came before council Dec. 17, because all events scheduled to occur for more than four days must get council approval.
