CUMMING, Ga. — Just in time for you to pick up a big stack of books to get through fall and into winter, the FCPL Friends & Advocates (FCPLFA) will host a used book sale at the Cumming Library November 9-11.

“Our Fall Book Sale will include over 7,000 books, DVDs, and CDs,” says Lynn Pansen, President of FCPLFA.

“Our Bookstore at the Cumming Library has been enormously successful, but our inventory continues to grow through generous donations from the community,” added Pansen. The Bookstore has nearly doubled in floorspace and shelving capacity since its opening in the first quarter of this year.

“In addition to keeping the Bookstore open during Library hours, we’ll continue to host our bigger book sales in the public meeting room to make sure our community has access to our full inventory,” said Pansen.

There will be a Member Preview Sale on Friday, November 9 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. That event is open only to members of FCPLFA, but you can join at the door. Individual memberships are $15 per year, seniors can join for $10, and a family can join for $20 per year.

Membership forms will be available at the door, or you can download one at http://forsythfol.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/FOLApplication.pdf.

The Book Sale will be open to the public on Saturday, November 10 from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, November 11 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

Volunteers are still needed to help with sorting and displaying books before the sale, helping patrons during the sale, and cleaning up after the sale ends. Generally, volunteer shifts run about 3 hours, but you can request a different schedule, if your time is limited. Go to http://forsythfol.org/2012/10/volunteers-needed-november-7-11/ to sign up.

Proceeds from the FCPL Friends & Advocates Book Sale benefit expanded programming for children and adults at all branches of the Library. Recent programs include Forsyth Reads Together, FCPL Family Cinema, Teen Nights, and Book Discussions for children and adults.
