CUMMING, Ga. — A house party led to the arrest of an 18-year-old on drug charges, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s incident report.

Josiah Jenkins, 18, was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Deputies arrived Oct. 28 at 1 a.m. in the 5600 block of Charleston Bay Drive in reference to complaints of people screaming and in the roadway. There were so many cars in the road there wasn’t enough room for emergency vehicles to pass, the deputy wrote.

As deputies walked to the front door to speak to Jenkins, people began running toward the woods.

Jenkins told the deputies the people were running because they were underage and had been drinking alcohol at the party.

While the deputies worked to break up the party, they smelled marijuana coming from inside the home.

Jenkins later told deputies the marijuana was his and he had been selling it to partygoers.

Jenkins told the deputies he didn’t want to hide anything from them and took them to a room in the basement where there were four small marijuana plants growing.

Jenkins was arrested and taken to the Forsyth County Detention Center for processing.
