JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — An orthopedic practice has opened a new location in Johns Creek.
Members of the medical community gathered at the new Southern Orthopaedic Specialists (SOS) office for an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 7.
“[The open house was] primarily for us to open up our doors to the community and meet some people around the area and to basically spread the word that we’re here now,” said Dr. Brian Morgan, who works in the Johns Creek office, 6300 Hospital Parkway, Suite 400.
SOS is a full-service orthopedic surgery practice with 15 physicians, most of which are partners and owners of the practice.
The newest SOS office was relocated from its previous address on State Bridge Road in Duluth, where it was housed for about 10 years.
“We were really outgrowing our old location and we needed a larger place,” said Morgan. “We just basically moved what we had over there to this location.”
The open house event was hosted in conjunction with the Johns Creek Healthcare Association’s monthly meeting. Guests included Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker, Councilwoman Bev Miller and Chamber of Commerce President John Bemont.
The new office, which is located directly across from Emory Johns Creek Hospital, brought five surgeons and a full staff.
Doctors Snehal Dalal, Douglas Kasow, Richard Johnston and William Lichtenfeld all made the move along with Morgan.
“We have on-site physical therapy and MRI imaging so we can treat any muscular-skeletal injury or condition,” Morgan said.
Though well-equipped to handle most issues, the facility is not outfitted to perform major surgeries.
Because so many of their patients came to them from the Johns Creek area, the doctors have begun the process of getting on staff at Emory Johns Creek, so they can perform their surgeries there.
“That’s part of the reason we’re coming here, so we can branch out and start working with Emory Johns Creek and the physicians and providers in this area,” Morgan said. “Most of the feedback I got was from patients who were happy to see us moving closer to their homes.”
Employees say their focus on the total customer experience is what sets SOS apart from other practices in the area.
“We offer a customer-service driven client desk where we want patients to have a great experience from beginning to end,” said Cindy Race, who works in client outreach. “We’re really focused on that.”
SOS has seven other locations in Fayetteville, Gwinnett, Piedmont, Stockbridge, Marietta, Kennesaw and Newnan.
