FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — A thief stole a woman's purse and phone from her car while she picked up her daughter at daycare, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's report.
On Nov. 20, a woman told deputies she went to pick up her daughter at Kids R Kids, 3835 Johns Creek Parkway in Suwanee, and left her purse and phone in her unlocked BMW X5.
When she returned, her purse, wallet, cash and iPhone were missing. Video surveillance in the parking lot showed a black minivan pull up to her car. The video showed a man get out and enter the victim's car.
The woman tracked her phone and later found it on the side of Kimball Bridge Road in Johns Creek. Deputies processed the phone for fingerprints.
When will journalists remove the word "victim" from these reports? Are you really a victim if you are dumb enough to leave your stuff in open sight and also not lock your doors? Go ahead and assume that any thief can spot you putting your valuables in your car trunk when you go for your little Greenway jog - don't think for a second they can't find the latch.
Um and let's see...a John's Creek housewife picks her kids up from college prep preschool and leaves her handbag and iPhone in an unlocked BMW luxury SUV, and we call her a victim? Crime is all about opportunity, folks. Try removing the opportunity first and you'll see how often you are a victim...just sayin. common sense
