ALPHARETTA, Ga. — A new restaurant concept in the Midway community of South Forsyth County has a nice hook to it.

Blu Bay Seafood, 5665 Atlanta Highway in Alpharetta, has taken over the BW Tavern. Dante Gurgigno, general manager, said he's under a management agreement with an option to buy.

He has cleaned up the smoky atmosphere that some patrons have complained about, changed the concept and the menu.

"We've got fantastic fried and grilled seafoods," Gurgigno said. "Different sautés and new flavors for the area. Huge portions, great prices, everyone is blown away."

Gurgigno said in addition to his seafood, prices for lunch begin at $5.95 and $8.95 for dinner.

The desserts include red velvet cake, canola cakes, coconut cake and pies. The place has a full bar and also offers senior and smaller-portion specials.

"It's out of control what we've got going on here," Gurgigno said.

Best sellers are the grilled flounder, grilled shrimp and crab legs.

"What I'm hearing from the customers is that the area was really in desperate need of a good seafood restaurant, and they love the flavors and the fish we serve," Gurgigno said.

Their Mediterranean spices add a unique flavor along with extra virgin olive oil and lemon juice.

Blu Bay Seafood is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., but that's just a suggestion right now.

"I'm here until 11, 12, 1," said Gurgigno. "I work all day, all night until we get it right. We don't throw anyone out of here. We let the customers stay as long as they want to stay."
