Johns Creek player places first in chess tourney

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — Vignesh Sekar, a rising sixth-grade student at River Trail Middle School in Johns Creek recently tied for first place in a competition in Huntsville, Ala.

On Saturday, July 28, the chess student at Kid Chess Atlanta, placed first in the Reserve section at the third annual Huntsville Classic Chess Tournament.

The tournament was sponsored by Caesar Chess and held at the University of Alabama at Huntsville campus. Sekar is an aspiring chess player.
