Everett ("Ev") Russell Deckow, of Lawrenceville, GA, died August 28, 2012, at the age of 91. Born in Amagansett, L.I., New York, Ev moved to Washington, DC after high school to embark on a 35-year career with the federal government, retiring from his position as Operations Chief of the Graphic Arts Department at the Defense Mapping Agency in 1979. A loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ev is survived by his son Robert Deckow and his wife Joan, daughter Elizabeth Lewis and her husband Scott, grandchildren Courtney Lee Clements and husband Michael, Peter Drew Lewis and Amy Claire Lewis and great-grandchildren Leah Grace and Cameron Michael Clements. A celebration of Ev's life is planned for Oct. 6 at 11:00 at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Duluth, GA. Family will receive friends before the service from 9:30-11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ev's name may be made to Peachtree Christian Hospice or Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church.
Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
