Roy Rade Garrett
Died: Thursday, October 22, 2009
Age: 84

Mr. Roy Rade Garrett, age 84 of Cumming, GA passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Grace Garrett. He was a Mason in the Matt Lodge since 1950, and a deacon since 1962 at Concord Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris Garrett of Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Trudy and David Ayers of Mt. Airy, GA, Regina and Tony Bennett of Cumming and Pam and Jeff Stephens of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Teresa Garrett of Cumming; sister, Hazel Turner of Dawsonville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ford and Mozelle Andrews of Cumming, Willis and Belle Pruitt of Alpharetta and Lois Wallis of Cumming; grandchildren, Joey and Kayla Ayers, Taylor Garrett, Tracie and Philip Gibbs, Emily and Natalie Bennett and Kelli and Kyle Stephens; 3 great grandchildren, Jordan, Emma and Haylie; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.



A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 25, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Lester Cooper, Dr. Jimmy Orr, Rev. John Lummus and Rev. Rubin Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 23rd from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Saturday, Oct. 24th from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday, Oct. 25th from 9:00 am until the hour of service. The Concord Baptist Church Deacons and Adult II Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escorts.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Concord Baptist Church Building Fund 6905 Concord Rd. Cumming, GA 30028.
