Ira Herbert Dailey, of Cumming
Died: Thursday, October 22, 2009
Age: 82

Ira Herbert Dailey, age 82 of Cumming, GA, passed away suddenly on October 22, 2009. Herb was a native Georgian, whose 50 year baking career began in Atlanta, with Colonial Baking Company. His work carried him to New Mexico, Arizona, and Alabama. Herb joined Flowers Industry as a Sales and Marketing Support Executive for production plants in the Mid-West and Western Territories in the US. Later, he became the plant President of Flowers Industries in the Lynchburg, Virginia Baking Facility. He retired with 20 years service. After retirement, he and Wynette (Peggy) moved from Lynchburg, Virginia and settled in Cumming, Georgia, to share their lives with friends and family. Herb was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church.



Herb is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Wynette Fagan Dailey. Daughter, Brenda Cook and Son Kenneth Dailey, both of Cumming, GA and son Greg Dailey of Phoenix, AZ, also survive. Granddaughter, Jennifer Cook, of Cumming, GA, her fiancé, Brian Simpson of UK and Grandson, Nathan Dailey, and wife, Shalene, of Sante Fe, NM. Great-grandchildren include Paris, Chloe, and Azura Dailey of Sante Fe, NM and Leona and Asher McKenie of Albuquerque, NM. Herb's sisters, Joy Bone of Stone Mountain, Burma Howard of Safety Harbor, FL and sister-in-law, Mytrice Dailey of Lawrenceville, GA survive him. Extended family members, Monica and Tory McKenie of Albuquerque, NM and Mark Griego of Santa Fe, NM survive. Many special friends, nieces and nephews, Susan Nunnally, Kristen Thornton, Angie and Randy Richards and children, Darrell Dailey, and Mark Thornton will miss Herb but remember him with great fondness.



A memorial celebration service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Brookwood Baptist Church with Rev. Gerral Richards and Rev. Larry Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 pm until hour of service.
