Thief steals $67K in valuables from car in Cumming

CUMMING, Ga. — Someone broke into a car and made out with about $67,190 in valuables, according to a Cumming Police incident report.

At about 6 p.m. Dec. 23, officers were dispatched to Los Rios, 580 Atlanta Road, because someone broke into a man's 2012 Cadillac Escalade.

The rear window was shattered and a duffel bag, briefcase and the vehicle owner's manual were missing.

The man said the duffel bag contained two watches totaling $65,000, $200 headphones, $200 sunglasses and two Rolls Royce keys valued at $500 a piece.

The $200 briefcase contained his diabetic bag with his insulin needles, blood monitors and various medications totaling $600.

The man said he saw a white sport utility vehicle pull up next to his Escalade while he was inside the restaurant, but he was unable to give the make or model of the car.

Officers saw blood on the shattered window and collected samples for evidence.
