South Forsyth varsity cheerleaders win regional competition

CUMMING, Ga. South Forsyth High School won the 6-AAAAAA regional cheerleading championships at the 2013 GHSA regional cheerleading competition on Saturday, Nov. 9. The county's 6-A cheerleading teams did extremely well at regions, considered the most competitive division in the state of Georgia. South Forsyth High School placed first, followed by West Forsyth High School, Lambert High School and Johns Creek High School. The top four scoring schools competed the next weekend at the GHSA state cheerleading competition in Columbus.

"This team is a burning ball of fire and determination," said head cheerleading coach Shayla Brawner. "I am so proud of their motivation, drive and performance on Saturday. We are thankful to have another opportunity to perform our routine again this weekend at the GHSA state cheerleading championships alongside the other teams from our region. Our region has tremendous talent and every team was truly amazing on Saturday."
