JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The Dancing Goat Theatre , incorporated with Performing Arts North will open "Crimes of the Heart" by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Beth Henly, this Friday at 8 p.m.

The southern gothic comedy based off Anton Chekov's "Three Sisters" follows the tale of three troubled characters that learn to cope with tragedy in different ways.

"It's the unwinding of all their stories, of what they're going through and also how they relate it back to their mother's suicide," said Executive Director and President Margarita Moldovan, "it's really funny, a really, really good show because this is a group of actors that I've not seen in community theatre around Atlanta."

Opened three years ago, the non-profit theater offers classes, camps and performances for ages 3 and up, Moldovan said. Friday's show is cast according the script and requires performers ages 23 to 33.

"It's such a great cast," Moldovan said, "I'm thrilled to be able to direct them and work on the show."
