ALPHARETTA, Ga. Wills Park was home to a baseball championship May 18.

The Alpharetta Youth Baseball Association played their final game for the 11- to 12-year-old age group and the Braves were crowned American tournament champions for the spring of 2013.

The Braves won by a score of 24-6.

Head coach Gene Lacombe said that he wished that the season could have gone on longer and was very proud of his team.

"There was a team camaraderie that I had never seen before from 12-year-old kids," Lacombe said. "They were very supportive of each other. You can't buy that, and it is a shame that the season is over. They were great kids."
