Optimist Club wins communication contest

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. — Members of the Sawnee Cumming Optimist Club celebrated another victory in the county youth Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

The contest offers an opportunity for children who are deaf or hard of hearing a chance to compete in speech or sign language.

Renee Glisson, a senior from Forsyth Central High School, and Elijah Howard, a 10th-grader from West Forsyth High School, were the Sawnee Cumming Optimist Club winners at the Georgia district level. Each of them received a $2,500 scholarship.
