Alpharetta resident victim of burglary

ALPHARETTA, Ga. An Alpharetta resident reported $5,000 worth of personal items stolen from her home.

Alpharetta Police responded May 17 to a burglary report that had occurred the previous day, according to the report.

The victim told police that she was at Sage, a restaurant on Haynes Bridge Road, at 7 p.m. and had some glasses of wine. At around 11:30 p.m., the victim called a taxi cab when an unknown man offered her a ride home.

The victim stated that she laid her purse on the kitchen counter, charged her phone and fell asleep on her couch. At around 2 a.m. the next morning, she went back to her bedroom to sleep.

At 7:30 a.m., the victim woke up to find her purse and several electronics missing. She told police she believes that the male entered her house while she was asleep and took the items.

Later that day, the victim went to retrieve her car from Sage, but found her work computer, perfume and makeup bag stolen from the car.
