NORTH FULTON, Ga. – The following Life Scouts in the Chattahoochee District completed their Board of Review Feb. 28 for the rank of Eagle Scout:

Warren Brett Greensmith, Troop 431, was sponsored by Roswell United Methodist Church. The New Life Covenant Church wanted a basketball court for their after school program. Greensmith led a team that replaced the existing cinder blocks and planks with two benches, a new staircase and the desired basketball goal.

John Robert Gilchrist, Troop 623, was sponsored by St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. The pond on the property at Marist rectory was overgrown, causing algae growth and impacting the pond wildlife. Gilchrist and his fellow Scouts cut back the weeds, planted several plants, put down mulch, built benches and laid a stone pathway. The priests and visitors have a pleasant area to reflect and enjoy nature.

Dawan Louis Simpson, Troop 87, was sponsored by Roswell Presbyterian Church. A section of a trail in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area was overused and erosion-ridden. Simpson organized a group of Scouts to re-route the section of trail. The re-route required building a 16-foot bridge over a ravine.
