Hausmann secures funds for new Milton Senior Center

ATLANTA – During the Board of Commissioners' action to adopt the 2013 budget, Fulton County Commissioner Liz Hausmann took action to add $295,000 for the operation of a Milton Senior Center.

This action will add much-needed senior services in North Fulton, Hausmann said.

"I am glad to have this opportunity to add to the quality of life for older adults living in the Milton community," said Hausmann. "There is definitely an unmet need for quality senior programming."

The city of Milton has offered to provide a building to house the new facility. Renovation costs will be provided through funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Day-to-day operations will take place under contract with North Fulton Senior Services. Planned services consist of group meals and activities that promote safe, active, healthy, meaningful and productive lives for seniors.
