Reportedly the four were a husband and wife and their two children. Police said it was an apparent murder-suicide. Johns Creek Police received a call from the wife's co-workers and two officers went over on a "welfare check" to her Aylesbury Farms apartment on Abbotts Bridge Road. They entered the apartment and found the bodies. At a press conference at the scene, Police Chief Ed Dinsmore declined to identify the victims pending notification of the families. He also would not speculate on the cause of death, saying the medical examiner would make that call. He did say the crime scene was extensive and extended throughout the two-bedroom apartment. Asked if investigating their first homicide in the city affected the officers, Dinsmore said yes. "We're all human. We're all parents. It affects us," he said. A neighbor, Mahendi Aholta, said he knew the family and often saw the boys in the morning waiting for the school bus. "They were a nice family. I was upset to see this. It makes you wonder how safe it is," Aholta said. |
