Leadership North Fulton welcomes 2013 class

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Leadership North Fulton held its opening retreat for the new class of 2013 on Jan. 16 and Jan. 17 at the Legacy Lodge and Conference Center at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. The class of 2013 consists of 30 professionals representing government, nonprofit and private sectors in North Fulton.

Class members are: Hans Appen and Kelly Brooks, of Appen Newspapers; Samantha Browning, Edge Solutions; Laura Cayce, CaraVita Home Care; Kathi Cook and Peter Tokar, of the city of Alpharetta; SaraBeth Custin, Verizon Wireless; Rebecca Gilbert, Chattahoochee Nature Center; Lukema Graham, North Fulton Community Charities; Lynn Haas, The Cottage School; Jeff Hamling, Georgia Chamber of Commerce; Rebecca Hawkins, Roswell Business Alliance; Lynn Hayes, The DUI Lady; Bill Hoban, Playworks Group; Matthew Kunz, Milton City Council; Kirsten Marshall, Frazier and Deeter; Maura McKenna, Atlantic Capital Bank; Will Merrill, Alpharetta Department of Public Safety; Erick Olson, Olson Associates; Jeff Petrea, Georgia Power Company; Zack Phillips, Emory Johns Creek Hospital; Karen Pye, The Drake House; Kristen Rome, North Fulton Community Improvement District; Debbie Ryals, Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce; Ben Shaw, Bank of North Georgia; Peggy Shipman, Department of Family and Children Services; Jud Shumway, Southern Company; Andy Stancil, Mahaffey Pickens Tucker, LLP; Michelle Wade, Columbia Engineering and Services and Mark Wolff, city of Roswell.

Class members will participate in full-day seminars that will explore issues affecting the North Fulton area while combining leadership components taught by Dr. Beverly Langford, a professor at Georgia State University, J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

Class members will also complete projects that benefit a North Fulton nonprofit, business or school.
