Remove ImagesCopper taken from homes in Cumming January 02, 2013 CUMMING, Ga. — Thieves hit up homes under construction for copper wiring, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff's report. On Dec. 7, a construction supervisor working in the 3000 block of Whitfield Avenue told deputies someone stole 60 feet of copper wiring from the home. The thief used a torch to cut the wiring from the breaker box. The home is under construction and could easily be entered through a window or door. The cost of the wiring and damage is estimated at $1,500. On Dec. 10, the same construction supervisor told deputies someone entered a home under construction in the 3000 block of Carrick Road and stole a copper tubing line set. The supervisor found a license plate lying in the street in front of the residence. It was not determined if it was related to the theft. The copper tubing set is valued at $500. |
