Remove ImagesMilton Theatre racks up another win ‘Pippin’ named Best Show in state October 31, 2012 ![]() The award-winning cast of Milton’s "Pippin" returned from the Georgia Theatre Conference as state champions. This is the third consecutive win for the Milton team. They went up against 12 schools from all over Georgia in a competition of 45-minute performances at the Georgia Theatre Conference Oct. 11 – 13 at the Rylander Theatre in Americus. Recognition went to Channing Wan and Haley Hamblen as all-star cast members and McKenzie Kurtz as best actress. During the tech challenge, Milton won several events including knot tying and button sew for Melissa Oliver, as well as sound hook-up and lighting hang/focus for Christian Loria. Two additional tech members, Jason O'Neal and Martine McClellan helped the team win the overall tech challenge award. Logan Godby and Amy Oliver won first place with a hand-to-hand act in the Georgia Theatre Conference Got Talent. The couple performed for the entire conference at the awards ceremony Saturday evening. The production will move on to represent the state of Georgia at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in March.
