"The remodel and expansion of the new, larger, multi-family facility will allow My Sister's Place to improve the lives of twice as many homeless women and their children by helping them overcome obstacles and directing them to a better path." This year's Medical Center Open was held at Chicopee Woods Golf Course in memory of W. Woodrow "Woody" Stewart, the late Gainesville attorney and faithful friend of Northeast Georgia Health System. Stewart served as chairman of The Medical Center Foundation for almost 15 years and helped raise more than $34 million for The Medical Center Foundation and other community health initiatives. As a trusted mentor, humble leader and devoted advocate for outreach, Stewart created a legacy of ambitious expectations and strength through partnerships that still inspires The Medical Center Foundation. The 2012 Medical Center Open – supported by premier sponsor Bank of America Merrill Lynch – had more than 200 sponsors, more than 200 players and 100 volunteers.
