Scouts tops in popcorn sales December 10, 2010 ![]() From left, volunteer Liza Ulrich, Senior District Executive Cristi Wells and volunteer Ralph Infanti help sort the popcorn sold by Cub and Boy Scouts at the Kimberly-Clark facility Scouts and their families took orders in September and October, as well as sold popcorn in front of local businesses. Two tractor-trailer trucks delivered the popcorn in early November to the Kimberly-Clark distribution warehouse on Hembree Road, where adult volunteers sorted more than 3,300 boxes for the scouts to deliver. Seventy percent of the sale proceeds are split between the local units and the Atlanta Area Council for camping, awards and program support. This is the fourth year that Kimberly-Clark facility manager Angela Matthews and her team have helped by unloading the trailers and giving floor space for the North Fulton scouts' fundraiser. "The kindness of the Kimberly-Clark staff has been much appreciated, and it's so nice to have this great facility so close to our families," said Cristi Wells, senior district executive for the Atlanta Area Council. "It's been a key part to our success." |
