Unemployed & Alone Update

Response

I could have written that letter. I find myself in the exact same situation. I have had good jobs in past years that I left so that I could take care of aging parents. Now that they are both deceased, there are no jobs for me. Sure, there are fast food restaurants and retail jobs, but I don't think I could stand on my feet all day. I have spent the last 3 1/2 years trying to find a job. I am 57 and feel like I have at least another 10 to 15 years of work left in me. Some people would say that I should volunteer. I already volunteer. It doesn't pay any of my bills. By the time the economy recovers, I will be in a nursing home. I'm thinking at about 85. I totally sympathize with "Unemployed and Alone". There are many of us and I don't know who or what will help us.
