A reasonable explanation? How about $2.2 million. I understand that's what Fulton County BOE gets to spend on the rest of their system if they can kick out this stellar performer which is drawing away bright students from failing "regular" schools. It's all about money. Philosophically there was never a reason for a pure, competitive charter program to be placed in and funded by the murky world of status-quo public schooling. So rather than emulate the stellar performer, they'll try to kill it and smear it in the public's eye to cover up for their murkiness and ineptitude. This is an amazing opportunity for proponents of freedom of choice in education to stand up to these people, and push hard to preserve FSA at the State level. Get it out of the county, and let it shine. Maybe then its bright light will shine directly on the cockroaches infesting the Fulton County Board of Education.
