Crowdfunding with Kickstarter.com
March 02, 2012 | 12:01 PM Rajshel Juhan never planed on being a work at home mom, but when she was let go of her Asst. creative Director position just two weeks away from her due date she new that hitting the pavement and looking for another full time job would have to wait. Shortly after the birth of her son she took over as dispatcher for her husbands towing company, but it did not fill her creative void. Rajshel had recently launched Jane hancock papers but the company had become more of a hobby during her pregnancy. She decided to put all her extra energy and time (their was not much) into the company. After three years she has seen some small success with her items being sold regularly on etsy and in two different boutiques she has also been featured in several books, magazines and blogs.
This dynamic owner is now primed and ready to take the company to the next level, but she needs a little help and so she has launched a Kickstarter.com project: http://kck.st/wKQ6vF
"I'm ready to make people stand up and take notice of this independent stationery company", she says. Using the internet like many other start-ups and entrepreneurs are now doing, the company launched there kickstarter.com campaign on February 20th, 2012 and hopes to raise 7,000 or more at the conclusion just a short 34 days later.
The funding will allow the company to create a completely new line of paper based products such as note cards, bookmarks and notebooks to name a few. Also in the works is a line of home & gift items like placemats, tote bags, wall prints and napkins. If 100% funding is reached the company will display their new line at the 2013 National Stationery Show in NYC where buyers from all over the word come to shop for their boutiques, stationery & gift shops.
