Expensive sidewalks!
October 30, 2009 | 08:59 PM The City of Johns Creek is spending $165,000 to build 500 ft of sidewalk alongside Hwy 141 and calls it a greenway. That is $330 per foot of sidewalk that will rarely be used. We only need to look at ourselves to see how tax money is wasted by government.

We love our sidewalks in Alpharetta November 20, 2009 | 11:10 AM
They should be building bike lanes too!

Sidewalks ( narrow ones, not wide ones) are needed November 10, 2009 | 09:33 PM
In case you haven't noticed, there is an elementary school on Barnwell road and parks and the nature center and stores near Holcomb bridge. How do you get to those without walking in the mud?

Oh Great Tree Huggers for more pavement???? November 05, 2009 | 11:11 PM
If you want sidewalks, move to city of Atlanta. They are falling apart all over that fine city. If you are like most everyone else with a brain in JC you resent paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for extra WIDE useless sidewalks on the side of what should be a two lane road. All you have to do is look at the ugly wasteful use of tax payer money to extend sidewalks on Brumbelow and you'll know what you are asking for. Sidewalks to nowhere. Barnwell isn't a parkway and very few people wish it was! If you can't figure out how to get across a rural two lane road without getting hit, you should join the squirrels and possums with similar mental facilities and continue to try to buck Darwin, good luck!

We couldn't stay unincorporated. No area did. November 03, 2009 | 02:55 PM
We chose Johns Creek over Roswell. We had to choose one or the other for firemen and policemen. However, I, like you, do not feel enough is being done on Barnwell. Everywhere else sidewalks are going in. We have a school, a Nat'l park, country clubs, we connect to Holcomb Bridge and many homes are on Barnwell and yet we are being forgotten by Johns Creek.

Barnwell Road not considered by Johns Creek November 03, 2009 | 10:01 AM
Someone please explain to me why it was better to create Johns Creek than stay in unincorporated Fulton County. Barnwell Road is still a speeder's corridor. I can't safely cross Barnwell Road to get to a National Park!! There are no sidewalks that allow people to get to the park or to Barnwell Elementary. I can't leave my subdivision except by car - forget trying to walk to run. It was a mistake to try to get this area as part of John's Creek instead of Roswell. At least Roswell understands how to interconnect parks with trails and sidewalks.
