Two Mount Pisgah Christian School soccer players have been named to Georgia Olympic Development teams. Seventh grader Cameron Cox of Roswell and sixth grader Scotty Frantz of Alpharetta were selected from hundreds of soccer players who tried out.

Of the 160 girls who tried out, Cox was one of 34 position players who made the team.

"I love playing soccer and have worked hard to improve my skills. It was nice to be recognized for my hard work. I look forward to being able to train with some of the best coaches and players in the state," said Cox, who began playing soccer as a 4-year-old with Pisgah Sports.

"This is a tremendously exciting opportunity for Cameron. Having trained her and knowing the work ethic and dedication she puts into striving to get better as an all round soccer player and young lady, I know this is a well earned accolade. I am also encouraged by how this experience will impact her soccer development and her teammates," said Andy Trevers, head of Pisgah Sports and Mount Pisgah Christian's varsity girl's soccer coach.

Frantz will be playing with the 12-year-old team, despite only being 11. He was one of 33 players selected to the team out of the 200 who tried out.

"I am really excited to play for my state and compete around the country. It also gives me the opportunity to play with a lot of the players from other clubs. I've met a lot of talented players from other clubs that are now my teammates," Frantz said.
