Crye-Leike, REALTORS Agent Jean Brown Smith has many fond memories of her days cheering for the Atlanta Falcons as a "Falconette."

"After high school, several of us tried-out for the Falconettes in the 70s and we made the squad," said Jean Brown Smith, an Atlanta area Agent with Crye-Leike, Realtors. "We cheered at the home games and got two free tickets. It wasn't the big deal it is today and our uniforms were much more modest, in comparison to todays'."

"I never mentioned that I was on the squad to many people," she said. "Then one day I told my daughters and they doubted that I really did it since I didn't have any pictures to show for it."

She contacted the Falcon organization about three years ago to inquire about any old photos. She soon found herself involved in the 2006 Alumni reunion performance.

"That was my first time on the field in more than 30 years," said Jean. "In anticipation of doing it again this year I contacted two of my best friends and bent their arm till they agreed to join me. "I told them if they didn't do it, they would regret it."

On Sunday, Nov. 16, Jean and more than 100 Atlanta Falcon Alumni got the chance to relive the past performing in a pre-game routine at the Atlanta Dome.

"We started practicing in September and were still learning changes right up to the performance,"she said. "We survived without making any mistakes and we had a blast. I met a lot of girls and made a bunch of new friends."

For Jean, the cheerleader turned real estate agent, it's been a rare trip down memory lane that not many get a chance at. For her, it was a personal accomplishment and she's proud that she can still kick it.

"I don't know how long we can continue to participate but I hope we do it again. In this uncertain world today anything that adds to our confidence and self esteem is worthwhile. And best of all my daughters now have proof… it's not everyone's mom who was an Atlanta Falcon Cheerleader."

Jean is an agent in Crye-Leike's Roswell/Crabapple branch office located at 282 Rucker Road in Alpharetta. She is a licensed Realtor in Georgia assisting buyers and sellers in and around North Fulton, Forsyth, Cherokee, Cobb and Gwinnett counties.
