Dauenhauer has been teaching P.E. to students for 23 years, 10 of which have been with Fulton County. She has been with Hopewell since it opened five years ago.
When asked what she liked best about teaching Physical Education, Dauenhauer replied, "I think that teaching students healthy skills that will make a difference in their life both through nutrition and exercise, is what I enjoy most."
Co-Physical Education Teacher Dustin Morris said, "When someone says that Physical Education isn't important for the students, come to our gym and watch Janet work her magic. Every student enjoys P.E. here and benefits from her teachings in one way or another. There is not one child that Janet doesn't reach out to, to make them feel good about themselves and to help them on the path to a healthy lifestyle."
