(click for larger version) | | December 09, 2008 FORSYTH COUNTY - Cara Tripodis, a 14-year-old and daughter of Chris and Susan Tripodis, was crowned Miss Forsyth County Outstanding Teen on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Georgia Mountains Center.
Tripodis won the hearts of the judges from five different states while competing in interview where questions consisted of current events and information on her platform, "Safe Driving for Teens", as well as on stage poise and evening gown. Tripodis is an eighth-grader at Taylor Road Middle school.
During the year, Tripodis will be promoting her platform to local organizations and schools as well as volunteering her time with the Children's Miracle Network. She will travel to Miss Georgia in June to compete for the title of Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen. This is an official Miss America Scholarship Organization state pageant.
The Miss America Organization is a not-for-profit organization that has maintained a tradition for many decades of empowering American women to achieve their personal and professional goals, while providing a forum for them to express their opinions, talents, and intelligence. The Miss America Organization is the world's leading provider of scholarships for young women.
Tripodis also holds the title of Jr. Teen Miss Georgia Girl. She won that competition last summer, where she was also named the contest's cover girl. Her photo was on the front cover of the program book passed out during the pageant.
