Terrie Needham has operated her business online for years, creating a name for her business, Annabellagio.
Six years ago, Needham decided to open a store in downtown Duluth.
"People kept asking me if they could come by the store," she said, "and we didn't have a store they could visit. I was just drawn downtown. It is a charming place and I love the old town feel."
The decision has paid off. While the initial business focused on the bride and her wedding day was mostly coming from online, the dress and accessory boutique has blossomed this year in terms of in-store business.
"Our business during the Duluth Fall Festival far exceeded years past by about 25 percent," she said. "The store's business has really been up over the last year and made a huge difference."
Needham attributes the increase to the addition of social dresses and other items for special occasions.
"If you have an event and have to get dressed up," she said, "we have what you need."
Needham said Annabellagio will have a Holiday Open House Nov. 9 from Noon to 6 p.m. to help kick off the holidays.
