December 02, 2008 ROSWELL - Roswell police arrested a 39-year-old Marietta woman Nov. 20 for allegedly trying to run over her boyfriend and another man on Holcomb Bridge Road while intoxicated.
Instead, said police, the suspect, Tamara H. Rinehart, hit a curb and flipped her car, escaping mostly unhurt when it came to a rest upright.
Rinehart's boyfriend told police he and another man were riding with Rinehart in her 1996 Lexus 300 when she began acting strange and driving erratically because she had allegedly taken pills earlier. When she stopped on Holcomb Bridge Road, they jumped out and ran away from the car, he said.
Witnesses on scene said Rinehart came back, U-turning twice on Holcomb Bridge to try and hit the two men on the sidewalk. When she hit the curb, though, the car flipped, crashing upright after spinning once in the air.
Officers noted Rinehart was combative and uncooperative throughout the process. They charged her with two counts of aggravated assault, DUI-drugs and reckless driving.
She remains in Fulton County Jail without bond.
