Residents clean Little River in Milton
by Christine Foster
October 16, 2008
Milton residents teamed up to tackle litter and debris during the annual River's Alive event Oct. 4, which began at Bailey Farms & Gardens on Hickory Flat Road.

Milton Councilwoman Julie Zahner-Bailey, whose family owns the business, led the charge by inviting individuals, groups and organizations to join in the cleanup at Little River, Chicken Creek and the parkland. Participants of all ages spent the morning picking up old discarded tires, rusted barbed wire, litter and just about everything else you can imagine.

The Milton Fire Department and Keep North Fulton Beautiful were on-hand at Bailey Farms & Gardens to demonstrate fire safety tips, rain barrel usage and "Enviroscape" - environmentally beneficial landscaping. Storm drain markers were also placed in certain subdivisions during the event.
