October 07, 2008 The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce has unanimously elected its 2009 Board of Directors. The new leadership will take office effective Jan. 1.
Lynn Jackson, chair of the chamber's nominating committee, was pleased with the number and quality of nominations submitted by the membership and staff. "We received a record number of nominations from the membership this year," said Jackson. "The willingness of our members to give of their time to contribute to the progress not only of the chamber but also of the community is exciting."
The incoming chair, Jerry Bowman, said he is anxious to continue the work the chamber is already involved in and predicts continued momentum with the elected group of directors.
"As an organization, we have enjoyed tremendous success, even during challenging times, due to the dedicated and talented individuals who comprise our Board of Directors," Bowman said. "I am honored to have yet another top team in place for my year as chairperson."
Officers for 2009 will be:
