ALPHARETTA - It is a long road to recovery for Claire Stewart, the 15-year-old Alpharetta High School reisdent critically injured in a much pulbicized motorcycle accident July 20.
Stewart, a former freshman homecoming queen and Windward resident, now spends her days in Atlanta's Shepherd Center rehabilitating her body, speech and cognitive abilites. And her family could use your help.
In an effort to raise funds to pay for her substantial medical bills, Stewart's friends and family are holding Claire's Challenge, a 5K/1K fun run Oct. 4 at the Windward Lake Club.
Already volunteers for the event have had support from local schools, churches and community groups. More information on the race can be found at http://claireschallenge.weebly.com.
In addition, Stewart's family has established Claire Stewart's Special Needs Trust, for which donations can be given at any Wachovia branch.
